Why did you decide to move to Vallarta:  One day we were watching House Hunters International and decided that we needed a change. After researching various places, we decided on Puerto Vallarta. Neither of us had been here before, but we took a leap of faith, sold everything and arrived in November. We are loving it!

What other places did you consider:  We had considered Panama and Costa Rica.

What were the main reason(s) you moved here:  We chose Puerto Vallarta because of the Peso. Panama uses the US dollar as their currency which wouldn’t work well for us being from Canada. It is easy for family and friends to visit. The location is beautiful and is protected by the bay from most tropical storms.

What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now:  Learn some Spanish, even though many locals speak English. Be prepared to take things sloooooow! It gets hot!
