Where are you living now / where are you from: We have lived in Winter Haven, Florida since 2004. I am originally from U.K. but moved to USA in 1966 and became a citizen 1985. I retired in 2000. My wife, Teresa, is Mexican and hails from Torreon.
Timeframe for a move: We will put our house on the market very soon and will move as soon as possible after that that event is completed.
Where else are you considering: We have considered several places including Ireland, Ecuador, Panama and U.K. but have settled on Mexico.
Why Vallarta: We have visited Mazatlan, Lake Chapala region, Playa del Carmen and other cities in the past but Vallarta stands out to us. The beauty, location and convenience, traditional and modern aspects side by side we particularly like. Besides we think Teresa’s family will not need much persuasion to visit us in such a place as Puerta Vallarta.
How can ExPats in Vallarta assist you:
- We hope Expats in Vallarta will be able and willing to steer us to services they can recommend by experience.
- We intend to rent for a while, three to six months, before we purchase. Help in these areas we will certainly need. Of course day to day recommendations for restaurants, and such things would be ongoing. Banking and small boxes of moving is another area we need some assistance. I have had very little luck getting quotes to move ten to twenty small Bankers Boxes.
- Also any advice on things we may not have considered that had consequences in their move and life.
