Debbie Baker
Status: Couple
Employed or Retired: Employed
Where did you live previously: Vancouver British Columbia 5 years ago
What part of town do you live in: Las Gaviotas
Why did you decide to move to Vallarta: It’s just too damp in BC and Carlos and I needed a new adventure… After meeting each other in 2007 in Seattle with did the back and forth Vancouver and PV and decided PV would be a great forever home… But what would I do for work here… vs 9 years as a police dispatcher and Real Estate Agent… Hmmm lets seee continue Real Estate and open a rental office!.. well it worked… The Property Girl from Sutton 1st West Coquitlam has now transformed to The Property Girl Rentals, Sales & Property Management in Puerto Vallarta..
What other places did you consider: We lived in several parts of Vallarta before purchasing last year to try different areas…. Fluvial, 5 De Diciembre, La Moderna were 3 of the areas… but I fell in love with Las Gaviotas… a great neighborhood to bring up our son.
What were the main reason(s) you moved here: Weather and Carlos.. important we can both be close to our families.
What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now:
- If your considering moving to Vallata full time it’s great to get to know the language…. even the basics are helpful.
- Speaking from experience I am happy we rented prior to purchasing to get to know areas and this is the same advise I give my clients who instantly want to purchase!
- Be patient.. and respectful.. your moving to Mexico so YOU must adapt….
