Elzbieta (Betty) Gerla
Status: It’s Complicated
Employed or Retired: Retired
Where did you live previously: Living part-time in Wood Village, Oregon
What part of town do you live in: El Caloso
Why did you decide to move to Vallarta: Cost of Living, Speed of Living, access to fresh food, artist community, sunshine….
What other places did you consider: Merida, Mazatlan
What were the main reason(s) you moved here: I really want to slow down and that is why I purchased in a more traditional neighborhood. I plan on walking to the public market, I plan on minimizing my belongings and I want to pretend it is 1953!
What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now: My adventure is just starting … I will close on my house in 12 days! But as a starter, it took an additional 3 months to get to the point we can close on my property…..so, patience is a virtue! I have always felt good visiting PV…I get off the plane and a magical feeling sweeps over me….well, that is other than walking through the time-share shark tank at the terminal! Just tell them you are staying at your “home” and they will leave you be with a nice “Welcome Home!”
It sounds like a wonderful adventure. I saw your comment on the French Word-a Day blog and looked you up! You are quite adventurous and an inspiration. Mary Kennedy
