Tanner Thompson
Tanner was born in Ontario, Canada and raised in Costa Rica. He left Costa Rica to attend university in Canada. Missing the Latin American lifestyle, he moved to Puerto Vallarta after falling in love with the city and now lives here permanently. He loves the amazing restaurants, nature, sight-seeing and activities that Mexico has to offer.
He has been attending Expats in Vallarta events for a few years, and loves getting to try new restaurants, and meeting likeminded people who also chose to live in such a beautiful place. He is looking forward to getting to know everyone, and being a resource for Expats living in Puerto Vallarta.
Sara Wise
Sara Wise and her late husband, Mike, started Expats In Vallarta in 2009 as simply a social group to help us and some other expats here at the time make new friends. That was then and it has both ballooned in size and expanded in function since then to where it is now the biggest expat community in Mexico with two very important functions. We have greatly expanded the numbers and types of our social events including happy hours at different restaurants, special dinners at favorite restaurants and even wine & appetizer evenings in expats homes.
Now, with the tremendous growth of the expat community in Vallarta, we have, for several years, been asked many, many ‘how to’ questions about all the aspects of moving to Vallarta and we have answered all of them. In fact, we now have a guide to answer those nearly 10 years of questions for new people. So we are now providing wide information to people in the process of moving here and then providing many social events once they are here so they can make a lot of new friends easily.
