Where else are you considering: Nowhere. We have visited PV and love it. It is more Americanized than other Latin American cities and has so much to offer.
Why Vallarta: The weather and cost of living are very attractive. We are water people and love the sun. The people are friendly and it is close to the states.
How can ExPats in Vallarta assist you: We are interested in learning more about the different areas to rent condos or apartments. Also, need to learn more about everything in PV.

Welcome Ray and Amy,
My name is Trenie Penrod and I moved here full time the end of 3013. I have been visiting PV since 1963 when my husband won a trip to PV through his job. I always said I would retire her someday and luckily it “finally came to pass”. If and when you come to visit PV again I would be happy to show you the little I know. Do you plan on bringing your car? Many people are happy without one especially if they live in Old Town. Almost everyone I talk to has a different answer on bringing their car to Mexico. Might want to keep a tally anf then decide after you have been told “many different stories” lol But that is in the future.

Thanks for the welcome. We love this site and people are so friendly. We are very excited about our trip May 24-31, 2014 to PV. Counting the days until retirement! We do not plan on bringing a car when we move down. We live in downtown St. Louis, MO and are comfortable with mass transportation. We will be staying in downtown PV in May and hoping to learn and explore the different areas around town. We are looking for an expats get together while we are there too.

Ray this is Don Andrews. I met you when I was the Technology Director in Lee’s Summit a few years ago. I am now the assistant superintendent. Just ran across your post and recognized the name. My wife and I own a condo in the Marina and will be spending our winters there when I retire. She retired this past year. Have you still been going to PV. Would be happy to answer any questions or let you know what we have learned.
