Why Vallarta: I have spent holidays here the last 2 years and returning again in December with my timeshare. The people are so warm, friendly and helpful here. Similar to others on this site, I am also tired of shoveling snow!!!
How can ExPats in Vallarta assist you: Information on moving to Mexico … because I am a single female I am gathering all the information I can to ensure I can live in the Vallartas safely and economically
Sue, you are making a great choice. We have lived here twelve years and would never return to live in the USA even thought we came from beautiful San Francisco, CA. There are so many Expat things to do here you can’t do them all. Of course now in the low season it is more quiet and peaceful which for us fulltime folks it is nice. Time to catch up on things and visit with friends here. If it gets to warm we travel on the wonderful buses to cooler climates like Taxco, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende etc. Not sure of your age but you can get a Senior Pass which allows you to travel 1/2 price on the buses and some in country airlines at age 62. There is also an nondenominational English speaking church which has many outreaches like teaching English at local orphanages, or feeding programs to the poor etc. It just depends on your lifestyle and now retired you want to be. As far as safety, I am a retired state trooper from California and it is far safer here than most places in the USA or Canada. We walk everywhere and take local buses and taxi’s as well as drive our own car. You probably have noticed how pleasant and sweet the people.
