I came to Puerto Vallarta in a 48 foot sail boat in 1993. I had planned on sailing to Costa Rica where I had spent a month prior exploring the possibilities of my retirement home. I had actually looked at many places, Cancun Mx, Guadalajara, Panama, all the countries of South America. Spain. Arizona, California, Florida, Las Vegas. I am sure I am missing a few. That being said I would live no where else! It has everything to make your retirement what you had hoped for and more. Weather for me is a big deal. Its wonderful 9 months a year but if you don’t mind humidity your good year around. I have 2 homes in PV and have made amazing people and great lifetime friends. The cost of living cannot be beat. Save yourself time and money exploring where to retire. I have done all the leg work.!

I think that moving to Mexico is a bad idea. It’s too far and too many uncertainties. You won’t be able to watch your grandson’s grow up and interact with them like you do when you are located so close. Maybe I’m being selfish but having you live locally since Lane was born has been so wonderful even if it seems like I’m not greatful or that I don’t recognize how much you both have sacrificed for me and my kids. I love you guys so much and I cannot imagine you living so far away.
