Where are you living now / where are you from: Alabama

Timeframe for a move: 6 months to 3 years

Where else are you considering: Portugal, Russia, Peru

Why Vallarta: It is been a place on the back of my mind for a few years. I am an artist and I understand that Puerto Vallarta was once a center for many European and American artist/writers to retreat. I love the location and the Mexican traditions, the weather, the historical downtown, the lifestyle. No, I have never been to Puerto Vallarta, but I have been reading about it for years now. If I were to find a more solid opportunity to move to PV, I would most certainly book a flight to find out more about this city first hand.

How can ExPats in Vallarta assist you: I have my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama. I graduated in December of 2012 with a concentration in sculpture and ceramics. Soon I will be studying to become a gemologist through the Gemological Institute of America which I expect to take about 8 months. I would love to find out more about relocating to PV and what it all entails. I would like to find out more about the city, the neighborhoods, local politics, the arts. Having connections to other English speakers and Americans would help create a safe and sound journey. I am 27 years old and looking for work in the creative fields. Jewelry and sculpture are my passions but I am a hard worker and customer service tends to pay bills nicely. When I obtain my degree from GIA, I hope to work in that field full time. I am hoping this website will get me in the door to fully understanding all that it takes to relocate to Mexico, connecting me with other people in PV, job opportunities, and general knowledge about the city and the culture.
