I am a retired California Highway Patrolman and it is safer her than in the states. We have no drive by shootings, no knock out games, no mobs, etc. We have lived here full time for 11 years and we would NEVER move back to the states to live. I hope that answers your question about safety.

PV is a wonderful place to live and the people are great, friendly etc. We have about 50,000 fulltime expats and tons who come for 1, 3,6 or more months when the weather gets cold in the north. We know it is cold when the Canadians arrive speaking French or saying ey? We have so many good restaurants it is hard to chose. I have the best Spanish teacher to introduce you to also. And she also deals with visa, and car issues i.e. licensing etc. Or I can send you a copy of her business card. I am a networking type of guy and can help with your questions. My e-mail is fstphoen@juno.com or my MagicJack is 707-225-6451.

We also attend a nondenominational church where today we had 128 Americans and Canadians you could have met. We are missionaries here and teach English at an orphanage, a DIF (Social Services) Boys Home and also at a fishing village high school sout of town.
